At about 12:30pm on the 9th of November,1984, Lesley Larkin was found lying naked and unconscious across a mattress in her unit in Noosa Heads.She had suffered a severe head injury, and would later pass away in hospital. Lesley was a beloved member of her community, and last month signalled 40 years since her murder. Despite more than 150 interviews conducted at the time, the motive for this crime has never been determined. Tye Wayne Porter was convicted of manslaughter over Scott's death and sentenced to nine and a half years in prison with a non-parole period of six years. There was another offender involved who can't be named because he was a minor at the time of the attack. He was sentenced to 15 years, which is the longest sentence ever handed down to a minor in Queensland, but he could be released after serving nine and a half years.
