The Repack, Week 9: Sloppy Packers lose to Lions 24-14

The Green Bay Packers lost to the Detroit Lions 24-14 on Sunday afternoon in a sloppy game - in more ways than one. Green Bay's self-inflicted wounds brought out a metaphor that Tex Western used earlier this season, as the combination of penalties, drops, and generally ugliness cost the team a chance to knock off the division leaders. Were the Lions truly beatable in this game? Special guest Justis Mosqueda doesn't really think so, but we'll never know because of all of the Packers' mistakes. At least now the team has a chance to avoid the "post-Lions curse," with a bye week coming up.

Evan "Tex" Western and special guest Justis Mosqueda break down the game, which naturally got a little weird and scary at a few points in the fourth quarter despite the Packers never leading by less than 10 points. Is Matt LaFleur's conservative approach going to get this team in trouble eventually? Is Edgerrin Cooper really that important to the defense? Is the pass rush for real? They'll answer those questions and much more in this week's Repack.

On this week’s episode of Reporting as Eligible, Paul, JR, ad Tyler discuss the Packer victory over Seattle, the dominance of the offensive line and Josh Jacobs, the return of Romeo, the sustainability of the pass rush, and of course, the ascendant Edgerrin Cooper. The guys also take on Matt’s fourth down folly’s, issues with challenges, and end of half nonsense, but it’s mostly positive! The defense is eighth in DVOA after all, and the offense never really allowed things to get close. Christian Watson is tiptoeing the sidelines! Tucker Kraft is catching YOLO balls! And of course, we’re answering your questions.

They touch on the extremely poor offensive line play, the constant in-breakers against the Packer defense, the fourth down disparity between the two teams, and yes, of course, the officiating. With the Packers locked into a wild card, they also discuss what the rest of the season will look like, the disappearance of Jayden Reed, a bit about the Seahawks, and of course, listener questions!
  • The Repack, Week 14: Stones in his pants, rocks in his head

    35:21|
"Stones in his pants, rocks in his head." Put that quote on Dam Campbell's tombstone.Campbell and his Detroit Lions went 4-for-5 on fourth downs on Thursday night, with two shockingly aggressive attempts in the fourth quarter. But the last one paid off as the Lions beat the Packers 34-31. Evan "Tex" Western breaks down the game, looking at how Detroit converted 11 of their 15 late-down chances and the Packers' defense squandered an efficient performance by Jordan Love and the offense, which put up 31 points on just 45 plays.
