Episode 827 - Unfocused
In this episode I'm joined by Charles Watts to discuss Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace last night. It's a strange game to analyse because it was clear minds weren't 100% focused on the job at hand with PSG upcoming, so we delve into the key moments of the game, team selection, the goals we scored, the goals we conceded, some individual performances, the 13th draw of the season and lots more.

01:27:39|In this episode we look back at Sunday's 2-2 draw with Liverpool. We chat about the key incidents, tactical changes at the break, the goals we scored, receiving yet another red card, almost winning it at the end, Liverpool fans booing their own player, and Mikel Arteta's post-match comments which verged on furious despite the fact we took what was a very important point. Then we answer listener questions about Ethan Nwaneri's lack of recent playing time, Gabriel Martinelli up front, what influence Andrea Berta will have this summer, spending on a back-up goalkeeper, and lots more.Get extra bonus content and help support Arseblog by becoming an Arseblog Member on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/arseblogArsenal Women Arsecast 122: Arsenal take the silver medal

We analyse the match, Arsenal's bright start and those early chances, PSG's goals coming from our own errors, the tactical decision to go long so early in the second half, the fact we didn't use Ethan Nwaneri even when we needed a goal, the heroics of Gianluigi Donnarumma, the evergreen discussion of the Gunners firepower and lots more. Then I have a quick chat with James to get his reflections on the night and the tie overall, where it leaves Arsenal for what remains of this season, how we navigate the remaining fixtures, and whether the solution this summer is as simple as adding forwards.Follow Andrew on BlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/aallensport.arseblog.com :: Follow James on BlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/gunnerblog.bsky.socialGet extra bonus content and help support Arseblog by becoming an Arseblog Member on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/arseblogArsenal Women Arsecast 121: Bank Holiday Blues
01:11:05|In this episode of the Arsenal Women Arsecast, Tim and Jamie analyse Arsenal’s 4-2 defeat to Brighton on Monday that leaves them needing a point against Manchester United on the final day to seal 2nd place. They talk about Arsenal’s issues with Brighton’s press, familiar vulnerabilities to pace and power through the middle of the team, as well as the trade-off between greater fluidity and chance creation under Renee Slegers but greater vulnerability to counter-attacks. In the second half, there are questions about the goalkeeping situation, how to defend better against counter attacks and whether there is a mentality issue with conceding goals in clusters.Get extra bonus content and help support Arseblog by becoming an Arseblog Member on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/arseblogArsecast Extra Episode 638 - 05.05.2025

01:05:58|In this episode I'm joined by Tom Canton of Football London to discuss Arsenal's 1-0 defeat to PSG in the Champions League semi-final first leg last night. We discuss the way the visitors dominated the opening stages – were they very good or were the Gunners bad? We analyse the goal we conceded, and some of their other chances, before we look at the opportunities Mikel Arteta's side had to score through Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. We also had a goal disallowed, but were probably fortunate in the end that PSG didn't score again. There's also some chat about the fans/atmosphere, and how the tie is poised going into the second leg in Paris next week.Find Tom on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@TheGoonerTalkTVIn April we'll be donating 100% of our Patreon revenue to four great charities, including the Arsenal Foundation, as well as supporting our friends at ArsenalVision Podcast as they launch their annual fundraiser - https://justgiving.com/page/avp2025Get extra bonus content and help support Arseblog by becoming an Arseblog Member on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/arseblogArsenal Women Arsecast 120: We're going to Lisbon!
