Arsenal Women Arsecast Episode 61: Arsenal smile while Bayern Munich Frauen

In this impromptu episode of the Arsenal Women Arsecast, Tim goes solo! Tim goes over a magical night at Emirates Stadium in which the Gunners qualified for their first Champions League semi-final in 10 years with a 2-0 win over Bayern Munich. Tim talks about the impact of that Conti Cup Final win over Chelsea earlier in the month, why a trophy and a UWCL semi-final were such big priorities this season, as well as a bit of a tactical ramble on how Arsenal were able to overcome Bayern, with some of Jonas Eidevall's pre and post-match musings thrown in for good measure.

  • Arsecast Extra Episode 581 - 22.04.2024

    01:35:26
In this episode we look back on the 2-0 win at Wolves on Saturday evening which put us back on top of the Premier League. We discuss how Arsenal had to dig deep after a difficult week, but put in a performance that belied the tired legs, despite the fact we had to wait until late to seal the three points. We chat about Leandro Trossard's goal, whether Wolves should have had a red card, David Raya's excellent save, and how Mikel Arteta asked a lot of key men like Odegaard, Rice and Saka and how they delivered. Then we answer questions about goals from set-pieces, which position should be prioritised in the summer transfer window, how the manager rotates his squad (or chooses not to), and lots more – including details of our end of season live podcast event with our friends from the ArsenalVision podcast.Get extra bonus content and help support Arseblog by becoming an Arseblog Member on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/arseblog – this month we're donating every penny of our Patreon revenue to UNICEF, so you get great content and help kids all around the world too.

In this one part episode (without Qs in part 2), we look back at Arsenal's Champions League exit, going down 1-0 to Bayern Munich last night. Once again, the second half was below par and we paid the price. We examine the reasons as to why that has been an issue in our last two games, and what Mikel Arteta can do about it in terms of his squad building going forward. There's chat about fatigue and heavy legs, the players we brought on from the bench and the players who stayed on it, what we can learn from this European campaign, how this collective probably needs a smattering of individualism for big games like last night, the striker discussion, and lots more.Get extra bonus content and help support Arseblog by becoming an Arseblog Member on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/arseblog – this month we're donating every penny of our Patreon revenue to UNICEF, so you get great content and help kids all around the world too.
