50 years after the Pentonville 5

P&O Ferries showed how bad trade union and workers’ rights are in the UK. But in truth these rights have been under attack throughout the neo-liberal period for the past 40 years. The Government has ducked the question by delaying its promised Employment Bill but is now suggested that minimum service requirements will be its next move, as part of threatened new attacks on unions. Labour has published its Green Paper "A New Deal for Working People" but is there more to do?

A discussion with...

Rebecca Long Bailey MP // Lord John Hendy QC // Prof. Keith Ewing, Institute of Employment Rights // Sarah Woolley, BFAWU General Secretary // Steve Turner, Unite Assistant General Secretary // Marian Carty, UCU Goldsmiths // Nabeela Mowlana, Young Labour Student Rep. // Adrian Weir, Campaign for Trade Union Freedom.

Held in association with the Campaign for Trade Union Freedom as part of Arise Festival 2022.
