600!? Su Pollard is one of Britain’s best-loved comedy actresses and entertainers, with a career spanning more than 50 years. She became a household name as the unforgettable Peggy Ollerenshaw in the BBC sitcom Hi-de-Hi!, before starring as Ivy Teasdale in You Rang, M’Lord? and Ethel Schumann in Oh, Doctor Beeching!. A hugely versatile performer, Su has enjoyed an extensive West End and touring theatre career, including Me and My Girl, Sweet Charity, Annie, The Pirates of Penzance and Shout!, as well as more than 40 pantomimes. She is also a successful singer, scoring a No. 2 UK hit with Starting Together in 1986. In 2023 she received the UK Pantomime Association’s Outstanding Achievement Award, recognising her remarkable contribution to the genre.
