Welsh actor Sian Reese-Williams is probably best known for playing Detective Inspector Cadi John in Hidden, a bilingual crime drama for BBC Wales and BBC Four which ran for three very successful series. She played the role of Gennie Walker in Emmerdale from 2008-13. In 2016, she featured in series 3 of the critically acclaimed Welsh crime drama Hinterland and in 2017, she starred in series 3 of the BAFTA award-winning 35 Diwrnod for S4C. Sian was nominated for Best newcomer at the Inside Soap awards and the National Television awards, and best actress at the British soap awards. In 2022 she got to the final of Christmas University Challenge as the captain of The University of Hull.
