Oh good grief. Nadine Dorries - who is actually a Cabinet minister, with actual power - keeps being wheeled out to TV studios to defend the indefensible, with catastrophic consequences. If you didn't laugh, you'd cry - but what on earth does this tell us about the behaviour of the people running the country, who apparently have no shame at all?
