In 2011 he graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word with a degree in English, where he won the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CHASS) English Award for creative writing. He currently lives in Austin with his Librarian wife Taylor, a cat, a rabbit and a lazy-eyed rescue dog names Dingo.
