{"version":"1.0","type":"rich","provider_name":"Acast","provider_url":"https://acast.com","height":250,"width":700,"html":"<iframe src=\"https://embed.acast.com/$/8aab63cb-38fa-4360-8db2-8fac2f6515da/640ef31f49428200110a09c2?\" frameBorder=\"0\" width=\"700\" height=\"250\"></iframe>","title":"4939: LISTEN¦ Ivan Martin says his son James has 'always been a performer' as he tells Frank about his pride at 'An Irish Goodbye' winning the Best Live Action Short Oscar","thumbnail_width":200,"thumbnail_height":200,"thumbnail_url":"https://open-images.acast.com/shows/61ba386c1a8cbe03f03cf2b7/1678701332348-b93dbb9b76f697a02b31dc75ba926513.jpeg?height=200","description":"<p>An Irish Goodbye director Ross White described James&nbsp;Martin&nbsp;as “the beating heart of our film”, after winning the&nbsp;Oscar&nbsp;for best live action short film.</p><p><br></p><p>White and fellow director Tom Berkeley led a chorus of Happy Birthday for the film’s star after it won best live action short film at the&nbsp;Oscars.</p><p><br></p><p>This year the biggest night in the show business calendar, taking place on March 12, also marks&nbsp;Martin’s&nbsp;31st birthday.</p><p><br></p><p>Speaking backstage in the winners’ room, he told the PA news agency that he had wanted to create an “extra special moment” for&nbsp;Martin, by having the&nbsp;Oscars’ audience sing to him on his birthday.</p><p><br></p><p>“Our man James&nbsp;Martin&nbsp;who is the beating heart of our film, it’s his birthday today (and) this was always the second most important thing of the day,” he said.</p><p><br></p><p>“We just wanted to make sure he had an extra special moment so it was amazing to have everyone singing for him at the Dolby Theatre – how ridiculous!”</p><p><br></p><p>An Irish Goodbye, follows the story of two estranged brothers, played by&nbsp;James Martin&nbsp;and Seamus O’Hara, who come together after their mother’s death to fulfil her bucket list.</p><p><br></p><p>James&nbsp;took to the stage at the Dolby Theatre to collect the award alongside his team, dressed in a leopard print blazer.</p><p><br></p><p>“It is this man’s birthday,” Berkeley told the star-studded audience.</p><p><br></p><p>“He is out here in Hollywood wearing a leopard print suit jacket. We would love to use the rest of our time up here to sing for James.”</p><p><br></p><p>Famous faces including fellow Irish star Colin Farrell were seen joining in the song, which was followed by cheers and a round of applause.</p>","author_name":"U105 Audio"}
