It's a brand-new episode of Ian's Untitled Scene Show, and this time I'm joined by David Tomlin and Tommy Bradley of Las Vegas metalcore scene newcomers FaceLift!
FaceLift may be new, but these guys have already made a strong impression on me with their killer self-titled debut EP. I've had it on repeat, and it's easily become one of my favorite releases of the year!
We get into how the two came together, their previous experiences in the music scene, signing with Roux & Ruin Records, and why they're determined to bring back the raw, fun, unpredictable side of metalcore. We also dive into the debut EP, their songwriting process, what P.U.D. actually stands for, and their plans to finally take FaceLift on the road in 2027.
Of course, the conversation goes in plenty of other directions, including the problems with modern live performances, backing tracks, AI, the current state of the music industry, ridiculous concert prices, musical influences, and everyone's favorite... drinking stories!
There's a lot to get into with David and Tommy, and this was such a fun conversation. If you miss the days of killer riffs, catchy choruses, heavy breakdowns, and bands that actually want to play their music live, you're going to want to check out FaceLift!
