After Episode 23 brought us our mid-season finale, we've had some fantastic bonus content to keep the adventure rolling. Now the main campaign of Rollin on D20s is back! The party is reunited, Thistle is officially part of the group, and the mysteries beneath the lake are only getting stranger. Welcome to Season 1, Part 2!
When we last left our adventurers, Rylund had activated the ancient observatory by touching its central table with the mysterious marks on his arms. The resulting surge of energy brought the room to life, but the interaction also triggered a strange vision that only Rylund could see. Within it, he witnessed a ghostly image of a tiefling speaking with an elf. With more questions than answers, the party tries to make sense of what Rylund saw, what the ancient marks are capable of, and whether the observatory might have more secrets waiting to be uncovered.
Needing a moment to regroup, the party returns to the chamber where their journey underground began. Among the piles of long-dead bodies, Xhenrak decides to investigate further, hoping to learn more about the unfortunate souls who ended up in this hidden place. His investigation doesn't turn up much, but Bramble's keen instincts prove far more useful. The ever-curious goat notices something unusual about one particular corpse, leading the party to an unexpected and deeply personal discovery: the body belongs to Quinn's missing sister.
The discovery raises even more troubling questions when Quinn identifies unmistakable vampire bite marks on her sister's neck. With little understanding of what might happen next, the party debates how to handle the situation. Is she dead? Is she becoming a vampire? Is there any way to help her? While they struggle to find answers, they agree to restrain her and bring her along rather than risk leaving her behind. A mysterious message written in hardened blood offers a possible lead, pointing toward the western forest of Noctra Vale.
As the party prepares to move on, old tensions begin to surface. Quinn attempts to explain her recent actions and the secrets she has kept, but Xhenrak's past experiences have left him with little patience for deception. Having lost close friends because of a betrayal he never saw coming, he makes it clear that trust is not something easily given, and even harder to earn back.
With Rylund's vision still unexplained, Quinn's sister in an uncertain state, and a cryptic message pointing toward Noctra Vale, the party has plenty to figure out. Season 1, Part 2 is officially underway, and if this first chapter is any indication, the secrets waiting beneath the lake are only the beginning.
