Before the events of the main campaign, a new group of adventurers begins an unexpected journey across Dawnshearth. At the center of it all is Thistle Greenbrier, setting out from her home village for the very first time alongside her fiercely independent goat companion, Bramble. Still dealing with the loss of her mother, Thistle is excited to see what lies beyond home, even if the world has a remarkable talent for testing her patience.
But Thistle isn’t traveling alone for long. Along the road, she crosses paths with a strange little artificer, a mysterious traveler with an unusual interest in some even stranger rocks, and Cohen, an ancient tortle whose connection to the nearby ruins raises more questions than answers. None of these adventurers quite seem like they belong together, which naturally means they are almost certainly going to end up together.
Their chance meeting leads the group toward an old set of ruins and a mystery involving unusual artifacts, forgotten history, and something that may be far more significant than it first appears. As the newly assembled party begins investigating, their personalities clash, alliances form, and the line between harmless curiosity and dangerous discovery starts getting increasingly blurry.
This prequel adventure offers a glimpse into Thistle’s life before she becomes part of the main story, while introducing an entirely new cast of adventurers and giving us a look at events that occurred before the campaign we know. Expect strange discoveries, questionable decisions, plenty of Bramble being Bramble, and the beginning of a story that may have consequences reaching much further than this unlikely party realizes.
