Welcome to Contemporary Superhero, a new series from Inequity. No capes, no laser beams: our heroes have a single superpower, the power to say no. They refused what was forced on them and put their rights first, at the cost of their jobs, their freedom, sometimes their lives.
Over the past hundred years, across Europe, they rewrote the rules. We tell the story of what it cost them, including their mistakes and contradictions, because a plaster saint never inspired anyone. A real person can.
Who’s missing ? Tell us about someone who stood up for Europeans’ rights, famous or not, and if your pick becomes an episode, we’ll give you a shout-out.
Next episode, 13 October: Roberto Saviano, twenty years under police protection.
Inequity is a podcast that chooses to slow down.
Two voices. Two European perspectives.
A shared conviction: understanding is already a form of action.
