Ryan reviews THE UPRISING, the latest historical action epic from director Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Trilogy, Captain Phillips), starring Andrew Garfield, Woody Norman, and Katherine Waterston Set during England's bloody Peasants' Revolt of 1381, the film follows a grieving farmer who helps ignite a rebellion against a ruthless monarchy. But does Greengrass's signature handheld camerawork and relentless intensity bring this medieval uprising to life, or does the chaos overwhelm the story?
Also... (SPOILER ALERT) is this a secret origin story of Robin Hood? Join Ryan as he breaks down the performances, action, historical accuracy, surprising ending, and whether The Uprising is worth your time.
The Uprising also features Cosmo Jarvis, Jamie Bell, Thomasin McKenzie, and Tom Hollander, and Sky Yang and is produced by Blumhouse.
