We just lost David Marsden, one of my all-time favourite Toronto Mike’d guests, and today I learned Sass Jordan has passed away all too soon at the young age of 63. Sass visited my home studio in February 2020, a mere month before the world changed, and she was absolutely wonderful.
There was an energy in the room I don’t think I’ve felt since. She was like a drug, and the listener feedback told me it wasn’t just me who was affected. Sass Jordan, like David Marsden and Gino Vannelli, is one of those guests referenced by people when they meet me for the first time. Sass was pure delight.
My sincere condolences to all who knew and loved Sass. wasn’t just a rock star with big Canadian hits like "Tell Somebody", "Double Trouble", "Make You a Believer" and "High Road Easy". She wasn’t just a judge on Canadian Idol, which put her in front of millions of Canadians. She was something very special.
Here’s edited version of episode 588 of Toronto Mike’d featuring almost 90 minutes of pure Sass.
