In this opening episode of season 2, I begin somewhere steady.
With my grandfather.
We called him Pa.
He lived 89 years and in a life that held a lot of complexity, he was one of the few place that felt simple in the best way. Solid. Consistent. Safe.
Pa didn't say more than he needed to.
But what he showed me stayed.
What it looked like to live with integrity.
To be steady in who you are.
To make the people around you feel like they matter.
After losing him in March, I've foiund myself returning to those lessons in a new way.
Because as I begin this season, one that moves into the deeper layers of my story...the patterns, the coping, the survival...
I can see just how much that steadiness shaped me.
And how much of it I'm still learning to give myself.
This episode is a tribute.
But it's also a starting point.
