Christy Clark, former premier of British Columbia, says the province’s newly elected Conservative government faces a daunting task of restoring fiscal discipline, attracting investment, and reviving its resource economy. A vocal supporter of premier-designate Lorne Doerkson, Clark sees new opportunities for cooperation with Alberta on LNG, oil pipelines, electricity, and other major projects, but warns that regulatory uncertainty and Indigenous rights pose significant challenges. She joins Hub Hits to discuss what it will take to turn B.C.’s economy around, and why she believes Doerkson’s focus on economic growth over culture wars could hold together the province’s broad centre-right coalition.
