The discussion moves into the different priorities of academia and industry, how teaching has helped shape Anne’s career, and what the future might hold for peptide medicines.</p><p><br></p><p>You can check out the podcast on <a href=\"https://open.spotify.com/show/70nqWN6xMLDObyajYo7wa0\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Spotify</a>, <a href=\"https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/dose-of-discovery/id1891720490\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Apple</a>, <a href=\"https://music.amazon.co.uk/podcasts/f48fa4f6-89e5-47e7-8331-57cc471fd8eb/dose-of-discovery\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Amazon</a>, or by importing our <a href=\"https://feeds.acast.com/public/shows/dose-of-discovery\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">RSS feed</a> into your app of choice. Her research combines peptide chemistry and structural biology to understand how proteins are modified after they’re made and how those changes affect their behavior. Her work has touched on everything from improving our understanding of cone snail venom to proteins involved in DNA packing in the cell.</p><p><em>Dose of Discovery</em> is cohosted by Søren Hough and Ayokunmi Ajetunmobi (AJ) and produced by Suze Cooper.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Read more</strong></p><p><a href=\"https://www.bioxconomy.com/modalities/making-peptides-a-staple-of-cancer-treatment-with-peter-t-hart\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Making peptides a ‘staple’ of cancer treatment</a> by Søren Hough (Interview with Peter ‘t Hart, Part 1)</p><p><br></p><p><a href=\"https://www.bioxconomy.com/modalities/ai-designed-peptides-blew-minds-of-researchers-says-professor\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">AI-designed peptides 'blew minds' of researchers, says professor</a> by Søren Hough (Interview with Peter ‘t Hart, Part 2)</p><p><br></p><p><a href=\"https://www.bioxconomy.com/modalities/the-pharma-industry-finally-believes-in-peptides-says-leading-professor\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">The pharma industry finally believes in peptides, says leading professor</a> by Nnenna Ohaka (Interview with David Craik)</p><p><br></p><p><a href=\"https://www.bioxconomy.com/modalities/a-natural-affinity-an-academic-s-journey-into-peptide-therapeutics\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">An academic’s journey into peptide therapeutics</a> by Søren Hough (Interview with Nathalie Grob)&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><a href=\"https://www.bioxconomy.com/modalities/glp-1s-forced-industry-s-hand-on-sustainable-peptide-synthesis-says-expert\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">GLP-1s forced industry’s hand on sustainable peptide synthesis, says expert</a> by Søren Hough (Interview with Fernando Albericio about green synthesis)</p><p><br></p><p>You can find a fully annotated transcript of the episode <a href=\"https://www.bioxconomy.com/modalities/anne-conibear-on-how-small-changes-reshape-peptide-and-protein-biology\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">here</a>.</p><p><br></p>","author_name":"Søren Hough"}
