🏠 WAVE #5 — When You Can’t Afford to Feel at Home
In Episode 72 of Jesus Company, Kenny Price enters the top five national stressors with Wave #5: housing instability, crushing rent burdens, and the growing unaffordability of having a place to call home.
📊 National Census and housing data reveal the enormous pressure being placed on American households—from renters struggling to keep up with rising costs to families who wonder whether homeownership is still within reach.
But housing stress isn’t just about dollars and square footage. 🏠 When the place where you live becomes a source of constant anxiety, it can begin to shake something deeper: your sense of security.
🙏 This episode is both a practical look at housing compression and a prayer alert for the Church—for families trying to keep a roof overhead, young adults trying to enter the housing market, and seniors facing the rising cost of simply staying where they are.
👀 And once again, the question is where we fix our eyes. Financial pressure can consume our attention until we forget the One who already knows what we need.
Jesus says, “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.” — Matthew 6:33 (CSB)
🛤️ Psalm 107:7 points us toward the God who leads people “by the right road” to a place where they can settle.
