Rosenstein. The former federal prosecutor became the U.S. Deputy Attorney General just over two weeks ago, and since then, has found himself at the center of storm around President Trump’s most high-profile firing to date. Leon Neyfakh has been <a href=\"http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/jurisprudence/2017/05/rod_rosenstein_is_a_cautionary_tale.html\">covering</a> Rosenstein for the <a href=\"http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/jurisprudence/2017/05/rod_rosenstein_is_being_used.html\">past</a> few <a href=\"http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/jurisprudence/2017/05/will_rod_rosenstein_serve_as_a_check_on_jeff_sessions.html\">weeks</a>, and joins us to talk about whether <em>anyone</em> at the Department of Justice can remain neutral in these polarized times.  </p><p>We also speak with University of Virginia School of Law professor <a href=\"https://www.law.virginia.edu/lawweb/faculty.nsf/fhpbi/1206652\">Micah Schwartzman</a> about this week’s oral arguments in <a href=\"http://www.ca4.uscourts.gov/caseinformationefiling/cases-of-interest/17-1351-international-ref-asst-proj-v-trump\">one of the lawsuits</a> challenging President Trump’s revised travel ban. Schwartzman is among a group of constitutional law scholars who <a href=\"https://takecareblog.com/blog/a-different-view-of-why-the-muslim-ban-violates-the-establishment-clause\">filed an amicus brief</a> arguing that the executive order violates the Constitution’s Establishment Clause. </p><p>Transcripts of <em>Amicus </em>are available to <strong>Slate Plus</strong> members, several days after each episode posts.
