Last we left off with the Mercurial Avengers, Kyver and company had found themselves back at Kyver’s old residence with his father, Marlow, coming out to meet his mother, Rhea, who was carrying a young Beatrice. Their happy reunion was short-lived as they found themselves meeting a strange woman who was part of an agency looking to reunite Beatrice with her lost family. As Rig and this woman, Leila, exchanged glances, they were able to size each other up as rogues. Showing aggression to Leila, she went to turn and walk away, but not before signaling her 2 goons lying in wait and rolling into a fight with the party.
After a quick exchange of blows, Leila and her men quickly found themselves outclassed, and they were put down. Kyver’s parents proceeded to take in Beatrice and figure out what they were going to do with her as the party searched the bodies and found traces of the Sons of the Serpents.
Soon afterwards, they tried to burn the bodies to get rid of evidence, only to see the body of one of the bandits turn into a partially burned blight zombie. Realizing what the effects of the blight could have on people, the party became wary of the Vitalis family’s plans. As the party got a note from their old friend Attros, carried by his owl, Gilead, they were notified of the research on the blight and how it has less of an effect on Tabaxis, and as such, they were being captured as subjects to use for further studies. As they discussed plans to break into the Vineyard and set things into motion for turning the tables on the Sons of the Serpent, Rig mentioned the use of her bracers to go back in time several days to when they first arrived at Nymora.
