Welcome back to Managed for Series 3!
We're kicking things off with Julia Baldet, the founder of wellness phenomenon, Elevate. After years in investment banking and private equity, she had zero hospitality experience and a gap in the London market she couldn't stop thinking about. A year later, she opened Elevate, London's first functional smoothie bar. In this episdoe, she goes into how she raised £400K (against a £250K target) by cold-messaging hundreds of investors on LinkedIn, why she picked a Bank location over a wellness-capital like Notting Hill, and what it really takes to get a brand into Selfridges.
She also gets candid about the less glamorous side of founding: learning to let go of her Type-A planning, running a business solo across marketing, accounting and supply chain, managing seasonality and cash flow, and recognising burnout before it hits. Plus, how she builds collaborations like her Roxie Nafousi smoothie on a commission model, why she's building her own personal brand alongside Elevate. We're starting S3 with a bang, don't miss it!
