In a world of constant stimulation, even resting can feel difficult. This meditation offers a way to consciously rest — not by falling asleep, but by allowing the body, heart and mind to soften into stillness.

Together, we begin by honestly naming how we are — tired, anxious, energised, heavy — without judgement. From there, we move into a deep body scan, allowing the breath to gently roll through each part of the body, releasing tension and restoring peace.

This practice teaches us how to rest in awareness, using the breath as a pathway into stillness and renewal.

It is especially helpful during times of fatigue, emotional overwhelm, stress or when preparing the body and mind for sleep.

This meditation offers support for deep relaxation, nervous system regulation, emotional grounding, stress relief and contemplative rest.

It can be used as part of a daily meditation practice, as a recovery practice after a difficult day, or as a moment of calm, winding down and preparation for sleep.

Chapters:

00:00 – Introduction: The practice of rest

00:35 – Opening bell

00:50 – Checking in with the body

01:45 – Settling into posture and stillness

02:36 – Feeling into the body

03:53 – Following the breath into rest

04:44 – Whole-body breathing

05:34 – Relaxing the feet, legs and pelvis

06:49 – Resting the stomach and lower back

07:29 – Releasing the shoulders and chest

08:22 – Relaxing the jaw, face and head

09:20 – Resting the heart and emotional centre

10:07 – Resting the mind

10:43 – Breathing through the whole being

11:17 – Resting deeply in the breath

12:15 – Returning to the body

13:39 – Closing bell

","author_name":"Cutdown Studios"}
