The Toronto Maple Leafs nearly pulled off another wild comeback, but this time they ran out of runway. Dan Riccio, Lindsay Dunn, and Brent Albrecht react to Toronto’s 5-4 loss to the Utah Mammoth after a disastrous second period left the Leafs trailing 5-2. John Tavares and Gavin McKenna made things interesting in the third, with McKenna extending his point streak to four games, but Utah survived Toronto’s late push. The crew breaks down Anthony Stolarz’s difficult night, the defensive issues that continue to show up, and whether Leafs fans should feel encouraged by the fightback or concerned about how they got into that hole in the first place. Then, Josh Lewenberg joins the show after the Raptors absolutely steamrolled the Knicks 148-98 in preseason action. The biggest story? Kawhi Leonard is officially back in a Raptors uniform, dropping 21 points, five rebounds and two steals in just 17 minutes in his anticipated return. The crew gets Josh’s first impressions of Kawhi, Toronto’s preseason so far, Allen Graves getting an opportunity, the new NBA Cup court and what to actually take away from a 50-point preseason win. Plus, a quick check-in on the MLB postseason before Todd Crocker, the new radio voice of the Maple Leafs, joins the show to discuss Toronto’s start to the season, the loss in Utah and what he’s seeing from this new-look Leafs team.
