After a finale kiss with Charlie Zakkour and a confessional where Ariana claims Charlie manipulated her with Jesus, the forums filled with disappointment. On this episode of The Good Edit Unfiltered, host Elle Schwartz, behavioral analyst, opens the case file. Her thesis is simple. Ariana made a choice, she made it young, and she is learning the lesson the way most of us did: FAFO.

Elle builds the case on her favorite theorist, Erik Erikson, the psychologist who coined the phrase identity crisis and, fittingly, chose his own last name. In plain language, she walks through the two Erikson stages that shape your twenties. Stage five asks who am I. Stage six asks whether you can share yourself without losing yourself.

Erikson argued the order matters: identity comes first, and intimacy follows. When the order slips, a relationship can become the place you go looking for yourself.

Then comes the evidence. Ariana grew up on camera, first on RHOA and Don't Be Tardy, and now on Next Gen NYC. She moved to a new city, came out of a long relationship with Hudson McLeroy, and, in her own words, believed maybe God called her to help Charlie become the best version of himself. Elle lays out what aired and what was claimed: the BravoCon ten foot pole line, the flight home, the dinner where Charlie joked about ruining things between Ariana and Liam Obergfoll, and the tattoo reading Only God can judge me. Reports of a hookup come from unnamed Page Six sources and remain unconfirmed.

Here is where FAFO meets the textbook. Erikson described a psychosocial moratorium, the time out society grants young adults to experiment before committing. The finding out is part of the design. Elle brings in Liam's comments about being young and new to New York, Gia Giudice's read on newly single energy, and the question every Edittor should sit with: did you find yourself first, or find yourself through someone?

The case closes back in the comments. I told you so assumes the lesson was obvious. Lessons usually look obvious from the couch. Living them at 24, with a camera crew, is a harder assignment.

Recorded ahead of the Next Gen NYC Season 2 reunion, airing Wednesday, September 16 on Bravo. Elle shares what to watch for.

Pick up the companion listener guide for a plain language map of all eight Erikson stages, key terms, and questions to sit with.

Fan forum commentary referenced in this episode is unverified viewer opinion, used for sentiment only, and is not attributed to any cast member. Claims about cast members are attributed to their original sources and remain unverified by the show.

Keywords

The Case of Ariana and FAFO, FAFO, Next Gen NYC, Next Gen NYC Season 2, Next Gen NYC reunion, Ariana Biermann, Charlie Zakkour, Liam Obergfoll, Hudson McLeroy, Gia Giudice, Ariana Biermann Charlie Zakkour, manipulated me with Jesus, Only God Can Judge Me tattoo, Erik Erikson, Erikson stages of development, identity vs role confusion, intimacy vs isolation, psychosocial moratorium, identity crisis, emerging adulthood, dating in your twenties, Bravo recap, Bravo podcast, reality TV analysis, behavioral analyst, The Good Edit Unfiltered, Elle Schwartz, Edittors

Listerner Guide: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Up9Bu8amqRIJBSgtfMbBVjZHsRK8Tihf/view?usp=sharing
","author_name":"Elle Schwartz Bravo Love Island & MAFS Recap Expert"}
