The Valley Season 3 had already wrapped. The reunion was shot on June 18 and sitting in the can. Then TMZ ran photos of Jax Taylor in a Puerto Vallarta pool with Lori Krebs, the longtime publicist who represented both him and Brittany Cartwright, and somebody at Bravo made a phone call. The cameras went back out. This week on The Good Edit Unfiltered, Elle Schwartz spends a full Cockies and Goss block on the messiest Bravo story of the summer, and then argues that the romance is not actually the story at all.
Here is the thing about a pickup. Nobody orders one for free. A pickup only gets called when the footage a season already has is missing something, and by the time those cameras rolled again, every fact in this story was public. The photos were out. Jax had confirmed the relationship in an Instagram comment reply and gone on to say he is in love. A source had already pushed back on the timeline, saying the friendship only turned romantic in the last several months, after both were separated. Brittany had already dropped the publicist. So what was left to get? One thing. Her face, in the moment it landed.
Elle walks the whole file first. The separation in February 2024, the divorce Brittany filed that August, and the paperwork that still is not finished two years later even with a custody agreement in place. Jax stepping away after Season 2 for sobriety, mental health, and coparenting. A season built and sold as Brittany finally getting her sparkle back. And the receipt nobody wants to talk about, which is the 2024 blind item about Jax and that same publicist, the one Brittany personally went out and knocked down on her own podcast, defending a woman who is now dating her ex.
