Colm is an independent candidate with a focus on housing, healthcare and social justice.
“Politics is definitely something I'm very passionate about. I think we all are deep down though. We say we're not a politicky kind of people, but I guarantee you, in the same breath down in the pub having a pint, you’re going to be like, the price of petrol, oh my god, did you see how much it is to own a house now. Independent candidate Colm Flood. Colm was a former member of People Before Profit (political party), where he was a left leaning socialist. Colm is currently an Independent and is more of a centrist now with a focus on housing, healthcare and social justice.
Colm has also campaigned on issues including public spending, cost of living and military neutrality.
Colm’s election leaflet says ‘’I've been in your area this week listening. Over the past week I've been walking through Stoneybatter, Phibsborough and Cabra speaking directly with residents, families, young people and community leaders. I didn't come with a script. I came to listen’’.[3]
