In our official one-year anniversary milestone episode and the finale of our October Spook-tacular, we step into the dark, complex, and broken psyche behind one of the most terrifying sprees in modern criminal history: Richard Ramirez, famously known as "The Night Stalker."

Rather than focusing on graphic sensationalism, host John Shaw takes a forensic and developmental approach to dismantle the media myth of "pure evil." We trace the biopsychosocial "perfect storm" that created a predator—from severe pediatric head traumas and temporal lobe epilepsy to extreme domestic violence, violent combat conditioning by his veteran cousin, and chronic methamphetamine psychosis. We also explore the criminal mechanics that baffled traditional FBI profiling models, the socio-psychological dynamics of bystander apathy during his time at the Hotel Cecil, and court-ordered forensic psychiatric evaluations on psychopathy, ASPD, and legal sanity.
