Her dad called her his girl. Her car's number plate read TOMISH — To Michelle — with the tag line 'Daddy's Girl.' She had told her mum she was going to be President by the time she was thirty-five. She will forever be seventeen.

Michelle Korfman left that Las Vegas shopping mall on a Sunday afternoon in March 1984 with a man who told her she had a big future in modelling. But he wasn't a fashion photographer, he was a serial killer who had been preying on America's most beautiful women for two decades.

Michelle's family spent a small fortune searching for her — helicopters, search parties, 25,000 posters. They never stopped looking.

She was found forty days later but spent another month in the morgue, listed as Jane Doe #39, before dental records finally gave her back her name.

This is Michelle's story, this is her voice - not the killers. Because she was a piano player, a photographer, a daughter, and a dreamer — and she deserves to be remembered as exactly that.

We want your help:

Contact us here if you had an encounter with Christopher Wilder or have information about him or any of his crimes: info@catchingevil.com

Join us and support these not-for-profits:

US

Survivors of Homicide Inc - https://www.survivorsofhomicide.com/

Yesterday Today Tomorrow Women Inc - https://www.yttwomen.org/

Aus

Mary’s House 1800 002 111 https://www.maryshouse.org.au/about/

Follow us:

Instagram: catchingevil

Facebook: Catching Evil: True Crime Podcast

TikTok: catchingevil

#catchingevil #prettygirlkiller #truecrimetok #truecrime #givingavoice #christopherwilder #serialkiller #MiamiGrandPrix #ProtectOurGirls #SafetyEducation #EmpowerYoungWomen #BreakTheSilence #TrueCrimeCommunity #UnsolvedMysteries #TrueCrimeObsessed #MindysStory #TerryWalden #BeautyQueenKiller #TerryFerguson #Survivor #WandaBeach #TrueCrimePodcast #SurvivorStories #RememberHer #PodcastRecommendation #VictimsMatter #NeverForgotten #MarianneSchmidt #ChristineSharrock #RosarioGonzalez #BethKenyon #ColleenOrsborne #SuzieLogan #Sheryl Bonaventura

Credits:

Hosts

Andy Byrne

Mark Llewellyn

Audio Production

Sam Blacker - The Podcast Butler

Resources

The Pretty Girl Killer by Andrew Byrne - courtesy of Penguin Random House

Thanks to Pro Podcast Studios, Sydney

Catching Evil is hosted on Acast.
