In this episode, we meet Chris Johnson AM.
Chris Johnson's time as the 21st government architect of NSW was marked by his close relationship with the Premier of the day, Bob Carr who led a significant programme of building and policy reform including landmark work to enshrine design quality in residential apartment development in NSW. Within this period, the office of the government architect also led the delivery of infrastructure for the 2000 Sydney Olympics and a major public building programme including schools, hospitals and the like.
Unlike any government architect before him, Chris Johnson's retirement from the role also led to key public-facing roles in private sector development and a continuing profile as public advocate and opinion writer in publications and mainstream media.
