Art is murder. Murder is art. And David Bowie has some explaining to do.

Welcome to the sixth season of the Regarding…Series, where Chaz Charles, Greg “Wolfie” Wolfe, and new co-host Michael “Mikey” Pastore venture into the strange, unsettling, and occasionally incomprehensible world of David Bowie's 1995 concept album, 1. Outside — The Nathan Adler Diaries: A Hyper-cycle.

Set in a dystopian 1999, Bowie's sprawling musical murder mystery introduces us to Detective Nathan Adler, the Art Crimes division, a cast of suspicious characters, and the gruesome murder of Baby Grace, whose remains have been transformed into a work of art.

But what exactly is Bowie trying to tell us? Is this a coherent story, an elaborate artistic experiment, or a deliberate exercise in confusion? And what happens when the music, the diary entries, and the characters don't quite agree?

With Brian Eno back in the picture, industrial rock in the air, and the internet beginning to reshape how audiences experience art, Bowie created something that demands more than a casual listen.

So we're giving it considerably more than that.

One track at a time, Chaz, Wolfie, and Mikey dissect the music, investigate the story, challenge the interpretations, and occasionally lose the plot entirely. It's equal parts musical scholarship, detective work, philosophical argument, and three guys wondering what the hell David Bowie was thinking.

And there's a certain poetic justice in all this. It was Bowie's praise for Lou Reed and Metallica's Lulu that inspired the very first season of Regarding…. Now, six seasons in, the man who started it all is finally under the microscope.

Regarding…1.
