I spoke with Father Philip Gbao at the Statue of Liberty; he was visiting from Sierra Leone where he runs a school in Lungi – across the bay from Free Town. Back in August of 2022 -- we spoke at the Catholic Worker’s Mary House in Manhattan about his experiences during the civil war in his country and his work as an educator and parish priest in Africa -- see BCR podcast #175.
Periodically -- Father Philip visits the United States to conduct Mass and raise money for his school and college students in his country.
Our recent visit to the Statue of Liberty gave me the opportunity to speak with him again – this time about my country and his thoughts on tolerance in human interaction.
Your tuned to BCR’s production of Surviving Trump – featuring conversations about hope and growth – that consider the aspirations of “we the people “ and the unfolding prayer of “forming a more perfect union” from the strengths of diversity.
