Fraught with tension and foreboding, Avati's Windows stands in contrast to our other gialli this month. Taking place in a dying, rural village, its treatment of social decay has an organic feel to it that seems at first far outside the aesthetic of the main run of gialli, even as it makes use of all the tropes and framework in ways that somehow still feel surprising. And for all that, we still get a strange manservant.
