In part two of one of Europe's most baffling unsolved mysteries, we're picking up where we left off as investigators begin piecing together the final movements of the unidentified woman found dead in Norway's Isdalen Valley in 1970.

After discovering two suitcases abandoned in Bergen railway station, police had uncovered wigs, disguises, foreign currency, coded notes and clothing with every identifying label removed. But one seemingly insignificant item would provide investigators with their next lead: a shoe shop dust bag from Stavanger.

Tracking down the shop's owner, police found someone who remembered the mysterious woman.

But what they uncovered next only made the case stranger...

Using hotel registration records and handwriting analysis, investigators discovered that the woman had travelled extensively across Europe, checking into hotels under multiple false identities. She spoke several languages, appeared to be constantly on the move and was described as stylish, striking and occasionally paranoid.

Was she a spy operating during the Cold War? An international traveller living under assumed identities? Or was there something much more personal behind her apparent determination to disappear?

We also explore the disturbing post-mortem findings, including the 50–70 sleeping tablets found in her stomach, the unexplained bruising on her neck and the circumstances surrounding her death. Despite an official ruling of suicide, unanswered questions have continued to fuel speculation for decades.

And the mystery doesn't end there. More than 40 years after her death, forensic scientists rediscovered her preserved jawbone and began using advances in isotope testing and DNA technology in the hope of finally discovering where she came from.

More than half a century later, the Isdal Woman remains unidentified.

Join Nikki and Cheryl as they investigate the aliases, possible espionage connections, forensic discoveries and unanswered questions surrounding one of the most fascinating unsolved mysteries in modern history.

This is part two of our investigation into the Isdal Woman.

👑 Hosted by Cheryl The Queen and Nikki Druce.
