In between all the laughter, they talked to us all about Elle's anxiety and journey with overcoming fear, the importance of slow dating to their journey together, and what it's really like to have your husband as a manager.

In a conversation that ranged from how they met, to their experience touring the world with Elle's musician dad Martin Smith and Elle's start in the music industry just after their marriage, we heard how Tom began working to support Elle's growing career from the very beginning. They clearly love working together, balancing the demands of releasing hit songs like Give Me Joy and Bye Fear with doing life with their young family.

But at the same time as the external successes of career and family, they were learning how to navigate the increasingly dominant and life-controlling anxiety and fear that Elle was experiencing. She shared about her gradual realisation that her feelings weren't normal, and how together they prayerfully worked to overcome them, giving her the feeling of a new lease of life she's carrying with her every day.

_________

Whether you're newlyweds or been married for 50+ years, relationships and mental health are inseparable.
