We'll compare Edgar Allan Poe's \"A Dream within a Dream\" and Samuel Taylor Coleridge's \"The Pains of Sleep\" to help us distinguish an anxiety dream from a nightmare.  We'll use the opening lines of <em>Endymion </em>by John Keats to explore a strategy for restoring calm after a stressful experience, and we'll end with Susan Coolidge's advice in \"New Every Morning\" for making each day a new beginning, even after a bad night.  Wishing you all a Happy National Poetry Month, and sweet dreams!</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Image:</strong></p><p><a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Nightmare\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">\"The Nightmare\" by Henry Fuseli, 1781.  </a></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Resources:</strong></p><p>Cleveland Clinic.&nbsp;<a href=\" https://health.clevelandclinic.org/stress-dreams-why-do-we-have-them-and-how-to-stop\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">“Anxiety Dreams: Why We Have Them and How to Stop Them.” </a>23 October 2025.</p><p>Coleridge, Samuel Taylor. &nbsp;<a href=\" https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/43995/the-pains-of-sleep\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">“The Pains of Sleep.”</a></p><p>Coolidge, Susan.&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.scottishpoetrylibrary.org.uk/poem/new-every-morning/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">“New Every Morning.”</a></p><p>Keats, John.&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.gutenberg.org/files/24280/24280-h/24280-h.htm\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Endymion.</em>&nbsp;</a></p><p>Poe, Edgar Allan.&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/52829/a-dream-within-a-dream\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">“A Dream within a Dream.”&nbsp;</a></p><p>Women’s March.<a href=\" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rP0c1Gn65lA\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">&nbsp;“Protest Safety Training Series: Situational Awareness.”</a>&nbsp;</p>","author_name":"DYV Media"}
