Welcome to the Eat The Pudding fan podcast, where Michael and Ian explore the Simpsons universe in all its colourful and cromulent forms. This is the fourteenth episode: “And I, For One, Welcome Our New Insect Overlords”.
“Pompous, blow-dried college boy” Kent Brockman is the focus of this episode’s Spotlight On Springfield. We cast a world-weary eye on the real-life anchormen on whom the character was based and revisit our favourite Brockman moments throughout the classic years of the series.
We also kick off our Season Eight highlights with Michael’s first pick, You Only Move Twice, in which the Simpsons leave Springfield for the idyllic surroundings of Cypress Creek so that Homer can take a step up on his dusty career ladder. Unfortunately, his magnanimous new boss has a dark side that includes designs on world domination …
