Welcome to the Eat The Pudding fan podcast, where Michael and Ian explore the Simpsons universe in all its colourful and cromulent forms. This is the ninth episode: “Everything’s coming up Milhouse!”.
This time around, our Spotlight On Springfield shines its unforgiving beam on Bart’s long-suffering sidekick Milhouse. We talk about the stark contrast between the two best friends and look at Milhouse’s family life, the traits he inherited from his father and the unrequited feelings for Lisa that manifest themselves at regular intervals throughout the seasons of The Simpsons.
Drawing heavily on the Season 6 classic The Springfield Connection, we also take a law-abiding look at the police in The Simpsons and, in response to a question from one of our listeners, discuss whether we would feel safe with Chief Wiggum and his merry men as the thin blue (-haired) line protecting us from the criminal elements in Springfield.
