In December 2024, Urfan Sharif along with his wife Bainash Batool and brother Faisal Malik went to prison for their roles in the murder of 10-year-old Sara Sharif. 

This followed a 10-week trial at the Old Bailey where jurors and journalists were in tears when they heard in horrifying detail the abuse Sara suffered at the hands of her family members.
