Gordon will now finalise the formalities of his move before he flies out with his England team-mates to the United States for a training camp before the World Cup. Bayern Munich also held formal discussions with&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/newcastle-united\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Newcastle</strong></a>, but&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cewpdvqxy8no\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>there was a gap in valuation</strong></a>&nbsp;between the two clubs and it was Barca who ended up making an acceptable bid.</p><p><br></p><p><a href=\"https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/newcastle-united\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Newcastle</strong></a>&nbsp;chief executive David Hopkinson made it clear they would only sell players on \"our terms\" in March.
