Michael, Emmanuel's older brother, found out (by eavesdropping...) about the relationship between the boy and the photographer Gianni.
Concerned and somewhat scandalized, he confronts his brother openly, making him face up to his responsibilities. But Emmanuel's reaction is firm and decisive: the boy defends his feelings for Gianni tooth and nail, since they are real feelings.
Michael, faced with Emmanuel's determination, realizes that this is not a whim, and eventually accepts the situation, while declaring himself bewildered by his brother's extravagance.
What Michael doesn't understand is that Emmanuel is completely indifferent to the standards of so-called \"normality\": he always and only follows his instincts.
