3:15AM
On November 13, 1974, a young man ran into a bar on Long Island begging for help, saying his parents had been shot. When police arrived, they found six members of the DeFeo family dead in their beds, all lying face down, with no signs of a struggle. A day later, the story fell apart.
This week, Chantal walks Ashley through the DeFeo murders: the troubled oldest son, the fake mob hit, the confession, and the “voices” defence. Then we head back to the house for the 28 days the next family claimed to have lived through: flies in December, a priest told to get out, a little girl’s invisible friend with red eyes, and a man who woke up at 3:15 every single night.
Was it demons, drugs, or a story cooked up over a lot of bottles of wine? We pick sides.
