Local Councillors Raise Concern Over Proposed Night-Time Closure of Kells Garda Station
It has come to the attention of Cllr Sarah Reilly (Fine Gael) and Cllr Sean Drew (Fianna Fáil) that there are plans to close Kells Garda Station during night-time hours. The councillors have also learned that as part of a nationwide restructuring model there is no longer a Garda Superintendent stationed in Kells. The new model reportedly involves the downgrading of several regional stations across the country, with smaller stations expected to close during overnight periods.
