Looking for a different kind of spooky to spice up your Halloween? Look no further than the shattering psychological terror of Perfect Blue! Resident anime aficionado Allen Ortega joins for an extremely in-depth look at the first feature film of Satoshi Kon's tragically-short career.
As with most Lynchian tales, Mima Kirigoe's transition from pop idol to primetime actress is fraught with dreamy dissociation, sexual assault, and several shatterings of her sense of self. Her very own Twin Peaks "Invitation to Love" known as Double Bind serves a televisual mirror, and a portal into darkest depths of depravity inflicted by the entertainment industry.
Find out why special guest Allen Ortega still calls it "a top ten film and comfort watch" despite these challenging themes and mind-bending scenes in an all-new kind of Fix Your Heart Or Die!
