This is the first part of our special episode in Holland, meeting and detecting with two amazing guys who discovered the Bunnik hoard.


Autumn 2023. The ancient Roman limes.

Gert-Jan and Reinier were detecting a field they’d had their eyes on for quite some time - with good reason.


One stater became two, became handfuls and handfuls of Roman aurei, denarii, and intriguingly, British Iron-Age staters of Cunobelin. It all sounded a bit familiar so we thought we better make a trip over to Holland to visit them and hear the incredible story.
