After years exploring human potential, mental health and psychedelics, Jonathan travelled to Guatemala for an ayahuasca retreat. What began as a blissful out of body experience developed into paranoia, frightening hallucinations and what Western medicine would later describe as drug induced psychosis.</p><p><br></p><p>Jonathan describes being locked away by the shaman, his family arranging for his sister and her partner to rescue him, returning to London while still feeling unsafe in his mind and body, and eventually spending time in psychiatric care.</p><p><br></p><p>The conversation explores his experience with antipsychotic medication, his refusal to define himself through a schizophrenia label, and the practices he believes helped him rebuild his life.
