On this episode, Mark welcomes Dr Helen Fry to discuss her latest book 'Nuremberg: The Translator's Tale: The Story of Howard Triest, German-Jewish Interpreter of the Nazi War Criminals'. Helen discusses her love for history and how she was inspired as well as what she is achieving via her work for garnering the perspective of the Jewish refugees from Germany during the Second World War. Her contact with Howard Triest gave her the unique opportunity to discuss with him the conversations and interactions he had during the rise of the Nazis, the war itself as a US combat soldier and then his role as a translator for the psychiatrists conducting interviews in the cells at Nuremberg through 1945.
