When meeting with the National Lab in Oak Ridge asking his advice on how to get science packaged for children, Bill Landry had an idea: what if Albert Einstein could come and speak to them himself. Soon, the one man play, Einstein the Man was in production and traveling throughout Appalachia. As with anything with Bill Landry, the play started in 1979 and was shown over 1,000 times. In 2000, for its 20th anniversary, Lockheed-Martin published the play in book form. In this special crossover episode, we borrow from Jason Crockett's Second Stage podcast. In his podcast you can find conversations about plays that were once used in the classroom but have seemed to disappear. Also, it looks at obscure plays and how they might be used in the classroom.
