Stuart and Rachael took listeners on another nostalgic Friday afternoon packed with throwback tunes, random memories, and plenty of laughs. The show kicked off with a Grease-filled singalong before the pair debated whether Grease 2 ever stood a chance against the original and swapped stories about weddings and classic film soundtracks.
The conversation bounced through Elton John, David Bowie, and the Rocketman film before Stuart revealed his very first single — Kylie Minogue’s “I Should Be So Lucky” — opening the floodgates to embarrassing first albums and questionable music choices from the past.
The 90s nostalgia continued throughout the afternoon with chats about the Spice Girls possibly reuniting, Atomic Kitten’s comeback, and whether the Friends theme tune counts as a one-hit wonder. Naturally, this led to the all-important debate about how many claps are actually in the Friends intro.
There was also complete radio chaos thanks to Adam Lambert’s unexpected version of The Muffin Man, proving once again that absolutely anything can happen on The End of the Week.
A special guest appearance came from Jenna from the Totally 90’s Festival, chatting about all things throwback music and festival fun, happening this June at Willen Lake
As always, Stuart and Rachael mixed feel-good music with random observations, from changing music trends and shocking weather to songs that definitely “aren’t lyrically challenging.” The show wrapped up with thanks to their guest, reminders about the podcast and Spotify playlist, and promises to do it all again next Friday.
